Logistics Planning & Budgeting: A Fresh Approach for 2021, by Mckinsey & Company

COVID-19 has created new challenges when it comes to logistics planning, management and budgets. We look at how the logistics industry can respond.

In 2020 the pandemic significantly disrupted the global economy and supply chains. Different logistics subsectors have recovered from previous crises within 12 months, but the shape and timing of this recovery, and which freight type and lane will recover and when, remain uncertain. Granular, feature driven models have helped some to re-instate the accuracy of their demand and capacity forecast models. But moving back to the board room and planning with the CEO or CFO with such machine-learning models is the next challenge. In this webinar, McKinsey's Dilip Bhattacharjee, Rohit Panikkar, Tom Bartman and Christopher Bailey present what they have done so far and how they are approaching 2021's strategic plans.
